Extremely charming and thoroughly well-made and well-balanced Spanish red wine from the La Horra area - the absolute best area in Ribera del Duero (yes, this is also where the famous Pingus wines originate). In the glass there is a wonderful aroma of fruit, blueberries and spices. The taste is breathtaking of blueberries, boysenberries and vanilla with softness and depth that lingers in a pleasant way. This is a wine that really surprises!
The wine is made from Tempranillo vines between 40-80 years old. The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels. This gives the wine roundness, freshness, deep fruit, fine minerality, which is delicately rounded off by the barrel - without being overpowering in any way.
The Garcia Figuero winery
In the late 1990s, Bodega Garcia Figuero decided to start its own wine production, after up until then having only supplied grapes to the top house Pesquera. The winemaker is called José Maria Garcia, and had a great drive and passion that made him jump into his own production. He started from scratch, by investing in a winery - an "all gravity" winery, which ensures a gentle treatment of the must without the use of pumps. This gives a stable wine that retains its aromas as best as possible. The winery was successful from the start and has received many great reviews - even received a full 95 points from Robert Parker several times!.
